How can we help?

Getting Started

New to Kreev? The User Guide walks through the app tab by tab, and the FAQ covers the most common questions about pricing, devices, and how the Recovery Score works. Kreev requires an iPhone on iOS 16+ and an Apple Watch Series 4+ (watchOS 9+) for the full signal set.

Billing

Sentinel is $5.99/month or $39.99/year, purchased through the App Store — it also unlocks the Kreev Apple Watch app and its Recovery, Strain, VO2 Max and Healthspan complications. New subscribers get 1 month free; it converts to the plan you chose unless you cancel first. Manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; we remind you before renewals. Your subscription follows your Apple ID — on a new phone, use Settings → Restore Purchases.

HealthKit & Syncing

Kreev reads your health data from Apple Health, which in turn syncs from your Apple Watch. If your score or metrics look out of date:

  • Make sure your Apple Watch has synced recently — open the Health app on your iPhone to confirm.
  • Check that Kreev has HealthKit permission: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Kreev.
  • If you just opened the app before overnight sleep data finished syncing, you'll see a "Sleep syncing" indicator — your score refines automatically once it lands.

Kreev also refreshes itself in the background as Apple Health delivers new readings — overnight and through the day — so your scores and your watch face are usually already current when you look, without opening the app.

Why Morning Data Can Be Late

Your Apple Watch doesn't send its overnight readings (sleep, HRV, steps) to the iPhone's Health app the instant it wakes up — Apple controls that sync, and it can lag by minutes or, occasionally, hours, depending on things like Bluetooth range and whether the Watch is charging.

Kreev only sees data once it's actually in Apple Health — it checks every time you open the app or pull to refresh, and in the background as Apple delivers new readings, but it can't show what Apple hasn't delivered yet. If you open Kreev early and something is missing, that's normal, not a bug: pull down to refresh a bit later, or just reopen the app once the Watch has caught up.

To avoid locking in an inaccurate reading, Kreev deliberately waits to generate your morning narrative until it has a complete night of sleep data, rather than guessing from a partial sync.

Kreev on Your Apple Watch

Kreev offers five Apple Watch complications: Recovery, Strain, VO2 Max, Healthspan, and a Kreev brand mark for watch faces that only have room for one. Add one on your Apple Watch itself:

  1. Press and hold the display until Edit appears
  2. Tap Edit, then swipe to Complications
  3. Tap the complication slot you want to fill
  4. Scroll to Kreev and choose the one you want
  5. Press the Digital Crown to save

Use your Watch, not your iPhone, for this — third-party complications like Kreev's can be unreliable or missing from the picker in the iPhone Watch app (a known watchOS limitation), even though they work correctly once added on the Watch itself. Most faces support one to four complications, so you can mix and match.

My complication shows a lock. The Kreev watch app and its Recovery, Strain, VO2 Max and Healthspan complications are part of Sentinel. watchOS lists every installed app's complications whatever your subscription, so you can add one on the free tier — it will show a lock until you subscribe. The Kreev brand mark renders on any tier, since it shows the mark rather than a reading — there's nothing to withhold. On Sentinel, tapping it opens the combined Recovery / Strain / VO2 Max / Healthspan screen; on the free tier it opens Kreev's subscribe screen.

Backing Up and Moving to a New iPhone

Kreev keeps your history only on your iPhone, so Kreev itself cannot restore it. Two things protect it: iCloud Backup, which includes Kreev's data and restores it automatically on a new iPhone; and Export My Data, a file you keep yourself and can import on a new device. Your Sentinel subscription is separate — it follows your Apple ID (Settings → Restore Purchases).

Privacy & Your Data

Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. In short: your health data never leaves your iPhone; there is no account and no server; no ads, no data sales, no advertising or tracking SDKs. Settings → Export My Data saves a full copy of your history as one file; Settings → Import My Data restores it; Settings → Reset This Device erases everything permanently.
